Classic “Investiture – Coronation of Christ” Candle Signify His Passion and Reward
The Classic Paschal Candle, “Investiture - Coronation of Christ” is a truly impressive, three-dimensional representation of Christ’s crowning as King of Glory, contrasting sharply with the suffering of our Savior on Good Friday. The five white inserts depict the five wounds He suffered on the cross. Three of the wounds were on his feet and hands. Two additional wounds represent the spear thrust into His side and the crown of thorns which was placed upon His head. However, the physical pain was minor compared to the emotional and spiritual suffering He endured from the weight of all our sins.
The Greek letters Alpha and Omega signify the title given to Christ in the Book of Revelation “The Beginning and the End.” The numbers represent the date the candle is used. An additional number is supplied. “Investiture” refers to a ceremony where a person is given special rank or honor. Such was the result when Christ was crowned with glory after suffering for us.
