Books for Order of Celebrating Matrimony: What's New?
Following the changes mandated by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of Sacraments, the Catholic wedding ceremony has undergone a few changes. The new Order of Celebrating Matrimony books for sale at T.H. Stemper reflect those revisions. The language of the Celebration has been adapted to the new version of the Roman Missal, which was mandated for official use in 2001. Priests will now forgo the pentitential rite and will add a Gloria recitation.
Optional ceremonies have been approved for use to include traditional celebrations often seen in Filipino Catholic and Spanish-language weddings. An appendix of special blessings for use outside of the marriage rite for engaged couples and anniversaries has also been included in the Order of Celebrating Matrimony.
