Get Up to Date with New Revisions to the Catholic Rite of Marriage
In the summer of 2015, the Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments approved revsions to the marriage rite, with mandatory parish adoption of the new Order of Celebrating Matrimony by December 30, 2016. You can buy the new book online with T.H. Stemper beginning August 25th, 2016.
New changes to the Catholic Marriage Rite include the elimination of the pentitent prayers in the beginning of the ceremony, and the optional adoption of traditional ceremonies commonlyh used in Spanish-language and Filipino-Catholic ceremonies (Exchanging of coins and placing of a lazo over the couple). Keeping in step with the implementation of a more Latin-base translation principle, the language of the mass will follow that of the Third Typical edition of the Roman Missal.
