Revisions to the Catholic Marriage Ceremony
In the summer of 2015, the Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of Sacraments approved changes to the Catholic wedding, which will be mandatory before the end of 2016. The language of the Celebration has changed in accordance with the new Roman Missal, which are in line with a new philosphy to adhere more closely to the direct Latin translation.
The ceremony itself has changed as well. The celebrant will no longer begin the mass with a pentitential rite. They've also approved optional ceremonies like the blessing of a lazo and an exchange of coins.
